Polk County, WI — Erik Severson, candidate for State Senate in Wisconsin’s 25th Senate District, has been endorsed by the Pro-Life Wisconsin Victory Fund Political Action Committee (PAC). Pro-Life Wisconsin is one of the state’s leading pro-life organizations, founded on the principle that all preborn babies are persons who share the inalienable right to life.
“I am deeply honored to receive the endorsement of Pro-Life Wisconsin,” stated Severson. “Pro-Life Wisconsin has never wavered in its commitment to defending the most vulnerable among us. As a family medicine physician, I have spent nearly 20 years caring for families at
every stage of life, and I share their unwavering belief that every life — from conception to natural death — has value and deserves protection. This endorsement is a reflection of my record, and I will continue to earn it every day in the State Senate.”
Severson’s pro-life record in the State Assembly is among the strongest of any candidate running for office in Wisconsin this cycle. As Chairman of the Assembly Health Committee, he brought the perspective of a practicing physician to pro-life policy — not just voting the right way, but authoring the legislation himself. Severson co-authored Assembly Bill 217, which created civil liability for performing sex-selective abortions in Wisconsin, and co-authored Assembly Bill 216 to prohibit the state group insurance board from contracting for or providing abortion services. He voted consistently for limits on abortion throughout both of his terms in the Assembly.
Pro-Life Wisconsin has been at the forefront of the pro-life movement in Wisconsin for decades. The organization backs candidates who recognize the personhood of preborn children and hold what it describes as the “principled and compassionate no-exceptions pro-life position.”
“The contrast in this race could not be clearer,” Severson said. “My Democrat opponent has joined Senate Democrats in calling to enshrine unlimited abortion rights in the Wisconsin Constitution and eliminate protections like ultrasound requirements and waiting periods. I have
spent my career as a physician caring for families and my time in the legislature authoring and voting for pro-life protections. The people of the 25th Senate District deserve a senator who will stand for life — not one who will rubber-stamp the radical pro-abortion agenda coming out of Madison. I have always been pro-life, I have always voted pro-life, and with the support of Pro-Life Wisconsin, I will continue to be a strong voice for the unborn in the State Senate.”
