Polk County, WI — Senator-Elect Erik Severson released the following statement today after
Senator Julian Bradley and Senator Romaine Quinn were elected as Minority Leader and
Assistant Minority Leader, respectively.
“After Tuesday’s results, it was clear that we needed to take a new path forward, and I believe
that Senator Bradley is the right person to lead us into the upcoming session,” stated Severson.
“While I respect the work of the previous leadership team, we need a fresh approach to how
things are being done in Madison as we move forward together in a drastically reshaped
political climate.
“Having Senator Quinn in a key leadership position will help to ensure that Northern Wisconsin
doesn’t get left behind. While the leadership team may have changed, our focus on
common-sense policies that put taxpayers ahead of liberal special interests will not change.
Now more than ever, we need to stand by our principles, and I know that Julian and Romaine
are the right people for the job.”
