Altoona, Wis. – Celebrating Our Communities and Our Country

This Fourth of July was especially meaningful as communities across western Wisconsin celebrated our nation’s 250th anniversary. It was a wonderful reminder of the people, traditions, and hometown pride that make the 31st Senate District such a special place to call home.

I was grateful to spend the weekend visiting with friends, neighbors, and families at community celebrations across the district. From Altoona’s Independence Day festivities to the Rock Falls Offutt Park Celebration and Augusta’s 50th Annual Bean and Bacon Days Parade, it was great to see so many people enjoying time together and celebrating our country’s history.

One of my favorite parts of these events is getting the opportunity to shake hands, hear what’s on people’s minds, and visit with families from across our communities. Whether it’s a parade, festival, or local celebration, these conversations remind me why I chose to run for State Senate.

Our communities are built by volunteers who organize events, local businesses that support them, veterans who remind us of the sacrifices that secured our freedoms, and neighbors who continue traditions that have been passed down for generations. These celebrations don’t happen by accident, and I want to thank everyone who gives their time to make them possible.

As we celebrate 250 years of our nation, I’m reminded that the strength of America begins in communities like ours. I look forward to continuing to meet people across western Wisconsin, listen to your ideas, and work every day to help keep our communities strong for generations to come.
