Supreme Court candidate Chris Taylor has launched her first TV ad of the campaign.
In her ad, Taylor called Wisconsin’s Supreme Court the “last line of defense” with “extremists” trying to eliminate food assistance and bring back an 1849 abortion ban.
Taylor’s campaign said her ad is part of an initial six-figure buy that will run in Madison, Milwaukee and Green Bay on broadcast and cable TV. AdImpact had tracked more than $440,000 in those markets as of this morning.
The campaign said it plans to remain on the air through the April 7 election.

Taylor, a judge on the 4th District Court of Appeals, opens the spot saying costs are on the rise before saying there are efforts to eliminate food assistance and BadgerCare, as well as bring back the 1849 statute. The liberal majority on the state Supreme Court struck down that law in July.
Taylor, a former Dem lawmaker and policy director for Planned Parenthood, says she spent her career standing up for Wisconsin families, abortion rights and domestic abuse survivors while vowing to “keep protecting Wisconsin on the State Supreme Court.”
The narrator closes the spot, “Judge Chris Taylor: Protecting our rights, defending our freedoms.”
