WASHINGTON — The Steady State, an organization of more than 420 former national security, intelligence, diplomatic, military, law enforcement, and homeland security officials, today endorsed Hon. Mark Pocan for Wisconsin’s 2nd Congressional District.
Mark Pocan represents Wisconsin’s Second Congressional District and has developed a foreign-policy and appropriations profile in Congress. He serves on both the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Appropriations Committee, giving him responsibilities involving diplomacy, international affairs, foreign-policy oversight, and federal spending.
Mark Pocan demonstrates a consistent commitment to the rule of law, supports nonpartisan oversight and accountability of the Executive Branch, exhibits a substantive understanding of the national security challenges facing the country, and upholds the democratic norms and ethical standards of public service that the organization’s criteria require.
“Our members spent their careers protecting this country’s national security. They see that same seriousness of purpose in Mark Pocan,“ said Steven Cash, Executive Director of The Steady State.
