WAUSAU, WI – Tom Tiffany is calling on David Crowley to condemn Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Nidhi Kashyap’s decision finding Darreon Parker-Bell a candidate for conditional release just over three years into a 30-year commitment.

In 2022, Parker-Bell opened fire inside Milwaukee Police District 5, nearly striking an officer before fleeing while armed. The attack was so serious that bullet-resistant glass was later installed in Milwaukee police station lobbies.

In 2021, Crowley endorsed Kashyap for judge, calling her work “admirable” and saying she would make an “excellent Judge.”

“David Crowley endorsed Judge Kashyap and called her work ‘admirable.’ Now, just over three years into a 30-year commitment, the judge he backed has opened the door to release for a man who opened fire inside a Milwaukee police station. He hasn’t even served half of his commitment. So where does David Crowley stand: with the law enforcement officers speaking out against his release, or with soft-on-crime judges and the defund-the-police megadonors bankrolling his campaign?” said Tom Tiffany.

The Milwaukee Police Association has said its officers “put their lives on the line” to stop Parker-Bell and that both the officers and the public deserve better.
