WAUSAU, WI – During the debate, David Crowley said he was “proud” of his record of raising taxes, said he would keep the government surplus in Madison instead of returning it to the taxpayers, refused to say how much he would raise taxes by, said he was “open” to putting tolls on our roads, and slapping Wisconsinites with higher vehicle registration fees.

That is not surprising given Crowley’s record of hiking property and sales taxes every year that he’s been the Milwaukee County Executive and celebrating with cake while doing it.

In contrast, Tom Tiffany’s top priority is putting money back into Wisconsinites’ pockets. Tiffany said he would not raise taxes, would return the government surplus to the taxpayers, end the 400-year property tax hike, and said he would absolutely not impose tolls or user fees.

“David Crowley told voters they’d have to elect him first to find out how much he’d raise their taxes and said yes to tolls, increased vehicle registration fees, and higher title fees. As governor, Tom Tiffany will not raise taxes or turn Wisconsin into a toll-road state like Illinois. He will return the $3 billion surplus to taxpayers, end the 400-year property tax increase, cut income taxes by 10% for families making less than $150,000, eliminate state income taxes on tips and overtime, and put more money back in your pocket,” said the Tiffany campaign.
