MADISON, WI – Today, Tom Tiffany earned the endorsement of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation’s political action arm, Volunteers for Agriculture, in his campaign for Governor of Wisconsin.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau. Growing up on a dairy farm in western Wisconsin taught me the values of hard work, personal responsibility, and stewardship that have guided me throughout my life. As America celebrates its 250th birthday, we should remember that Wisconsin farmers have been helping feed this great nation for generations. When I’m governor, I’ll protect our farmland from Communist China, industrial solar and wind projects, and Big Data developments, launch a Young Farmers Program to help the next generation get started, expand markets for Wisconsin products, and ensure Wisconsin agriculture remains strong for the next 250 years,” said Tom Tiffany.
“Congressman Tiffany understands Wisconsin agriculture and has a clear record of standing with farmers,” said VFA Committee Chair Austin Vandertie. “His survey responses presented a vision for Wisconsin agriculture that closely aligned with the priorities of our members. His commitment to protecting farmland, supporting the next generation of farmers, reducing unnecessary regulatory burdens, along with his record of leadership on key issues like the Pet and Livestock Act in Congress show his commitment to farmers and resonated strongly with the committee.”
“Under Tom Tiffany’s leadership, Wisconsin agriculture will be positioned for growth and success,” said WFBF President Brad Olson. “Led by farmers across our state, the VFA’s decision shows strong confidence in Congressman Tiffany’s appreciation for rural Wisconsin and his commitment to growing the state’s agricultural economy.”
In the questionnaire submitted as part of the endorsement process, Tiffany outlined his strong commitment to protecting Wisconsin farmland, including preventing foreign adversaries from purchasing agricultural land, restoring local control over the siting of industrial wind and solar projects, and stopping massive data centers from bulldozing productive farmland. He also expressed support for legislation allowing the Wisconsin Farm Bureau to join 14 other states in offering Farm Bureau Health Plans, providing farmers with more affordable health care options. Additionally, Tiffany committed to launching a Young Farmers Program to help the next generation enter agriculture and build successful farming operations.
The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is the state’s largest general farm organization, representing farms of every size, commodity and management style.
