LANCASTER, WI — Congressman Derrick Van Orden headlined the Grant County Fair Thursday evening, joining hundreds of residents for a night celebrating rural Wisconsin.
Van Orden spoke at the fair’s Honoring Our Heroes event, recognizing local veterans for their service, before spending the evening throughout the fairgrounds talking with residents and visiting booths.
“This is Wisconsin,” said Van Orden. “It’s a familiar face everywhere you go. It’s neighbors checking in on neighbors, families gathering at the fair year after year and people that take pride in where they come from. That’s the Wisconsin I’m proud to represent.”
Van Orden closed out the evening by addressing the crowd ahead of the Monster Truck Show, continuing his message that rural Wisconsin communities should never be overlooked.

“It’s easy for Washington to overlook places like Grant County, but I never will,” Van Orden said. “Our rural communities are the heart of Wisconsin, and I’ll fight to make sure our voices are heard and freedoms are protected.”
