WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Derrick Van Orden released the following statement after the House passage of the Farm Bill:

“Agriculture is the cornerstone of Wisconsin and the backbone of our nation. From dairy farms to multi-generational family operations, our farmers don’t just feed our state, they feed America and sustain the strength of rural communities across the country. Wisconsin isn’t just a dairy state, it is the Dairy State, and our producers continue to set the standard for hard work, innovation, and quality.

The Farm Bill wasn’t written in Washington, it was shaped in the fields, barns, and pastures of rural America, through more than 150 listening sessions held by the House Agriculture Committee.

With House passage of the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026, we are delivering real certainty for producers while strengthening the farm safety net and reinforcing America’s long-term food security at a critical time.

Wisconsin farmers don’t ask for handouts. This farm bill is another step toward strengthening stability and ensuring our farmers have the opportunity to compete. I came to Washington to be a champion for rural communities and our farmers, and I’m proud to support this bill as it passes the House. I look forward to the Senate taking up the farm bill without delay. ”
