WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) released the following statement after the Supreme Court issued a ruling blocking President Donald Trump’s sweeping tariffs:

“For nearly a year, Americans have felt the pain of Donald Trump’s reckless trade war – families paying more at the checkout counter, farmers cut off from markets, and manufacturers forced to pay increased input costs. The on-again-off-again trade war has simply been chaos for Wisconsin families and businesses. Today, we saw the Supreme Court rein in this lawless president and slap down his out-of-control tariffs, but the increased costs and uncertainty that Wisconsinites are still navigating is irreversible and will have long lasting impacts. I’ll do everything I can to help Wisconsin businesses, farmers, and families navigate the path ahead, but I hope this resounding rejection of Donald Trump’s trade war brings an end to the economic turbulence that has threatened too many Made in Wisconsin farms, small businesses, and manufacturers over the past year.”
