As President Trump visits Wisconsin, Senator Peter Welch (D-VT) will host a series of events, as part of Unrig Our Economy’s new Protect Family Farms campaign over the summer to highlight how the Washington agenda is hurting farmers and rural communities. This Wisconsin stop will be the first of a handful of events across the country.
Welch’s visit comes as Wisconsin farmers and rural families are under attack from Washington. Tariffs are raising costs and cutting off key markets. The war in Iran is driving up fuel and fertilizer prices. And health care cuts are making coverage harder to afford.
Across two days of events, Senator Welch will meet with Wisconsinites directly impacted by rising health care costs, tariffs, and the war in Iran which are making it harder for family farms and rural businesses to get by.
