U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden is up with a new ad in the race that pays homage to his deceased mother.
The Prairie du Chien Republican narrates the ad, saying his mom had it rough, going from homecoming queen to a single mom with two boys. But she taught them to fight for those who can’t fight for themselves, and there’s “always room for one more at the table.”
Van Orden closes the ad saying, “I will always fight for you, and you are always welcome at my table” as the spot shows the congressman and others grasping hands in prayer around a table.
The final screen reads, “In memory of my Ma Carol Ann Van Orden 1944-2015.”
