FOUNTAIN CITY, WI — Derrick Van Orden spoke with voters and racing fans Friday night at Mississippi Thunder Speedway, joining families as they kicked off the weekend with an evening at the track.
Van Orden was a featured speaker at the event, delivering remarks before riding in the pace truck ahead of the evening races.
“You come out to places like this and you’re reminded pretty quickly what matters,” said Van Orden. “Our communities are made up of folks who get up early, work hard all week, and then bring their families out to places like the Mississippi Thunder Speedway on a Friday night to spend time together and kick off the weekend.”
Van Orden said conversations like those he had Friday night are a reminder of what matters most to families across rural Wisconsin.

“At the end of the day, Wisconsinites want the same things we’ve always wanted. To keep more of our hard-earned money, live in safe communities, and to give our children a better life than the one we had. Those are the values that make our beautiful country great and the same values I carry with me to Washington.”
