ASHLAND — Ashland native and businessman Paul Wassgren announced Wednesday that he finished 2025 with nearly $1.5 million cash on hand for his campaign to represent his northern Wisconsin neighbors in the 7th Congressional district. The fundraising haul puts Wassgren in a very strong position heading into 2026, with the most cash on hand of any candidate in the Republican primary.
“I’m honored by the support of so many of my fellow Wisconsinites, and I’m excited to continue building our grassroots movement all across the North to support the Trump agenda and bring prosperity, economic development and safety to our communities,” Wassgren said.

Paul Wassgren is proud to be a fifth-generation native of Ashland, with friends and family all across Northern Wisconsin. A successful businessman and corporate lawyer, Paul has spent more than 20 years representing businesses and their owners all over the world, forming new companies, working on mergers and acquisitions, and creating jobs and wealth along the way.

He’s worked boots on the ground to enact key elements of the Trump agenda as one of the country’s leading advocates for Opportunity Zones that create jobs and prosperity. In Congress, he’ll be a fierce advocate for Northern Wisconsin and work with President Trump to revitalize our communities.

Wassgren will report raising $1.6 million since announcing his campaign in October, with a cash on hand balance of $1,433,268.
