(Waukesha, WI)- Monday, June 8, 2026, Waukesha County officially swore in Georgia Maxwell as the new Waukesha County Clerk, marking the beginning of her service in this important county leadership role.

As County Clerk, Maxwell will serve residents by helping to oversee key public functions, such as countywide election cycles and supporting transparent, efficient county government operations. Her swearing-in reflects Waukesha County’s continued commitment to public service and responsive government for its residents.

“I am honored and excited to serve the people of Waukesha County as County Clerk,” Georgia Maxwell said. “I look forward to working hard every day on behalf of our residents and ensuring this office continues to provide dependable, professional service to the community,” Maxwell added.

Maxwell has held several senior leadership roles in Wisconsin state government, including Commissioner and former Chair of the Wisconsin Labor and Industry Review Commission, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Workforce Development, and Assistant Deputy Secretary at both Workforce Development and the Department of Financial Institutions. In these positions, she was known for leading complex organizations, implementing strategic improvements, and strengthening collaboration with policymakers, municipal leaders, and partners statewide.

County officials welcomed Maxwell to the role and recognized the importance of the County Clerk’s Office in supporting the work of county government and maintaining public trust.

Maxwell’s appointment begins immediately following her swearing-in, and she now assumes the duties and responsibilities of the Waukesha County Clerk’s Office. She will serve the remainder of the term through 2028.
