(WAUKESHA, WI) – Tuesday, February 17th, 2026, Waukesha County will provide information about the proposed rehabilitation of the County I bridge over the Mukwonago River in the Town of Mukwonago during a public information meeting. The goal is to familiarize the public with the purpose and need for the project and to obtain public input on the suggested improvements.
The meeting runs from 4:30 to 6:00 pm, at the Mukwonago Town Hall, W320 S8315 Beulah Road, Mukwonago, WI 53149. This project meeting is an open house format (in-person). Representatives from Waukesha County and the project design team will be available to discuss the project and address any questions or concerns.
This bridge rehabilitation project is located on County Highway I, about 700 feet south of County Highway LO (Eagle Lake Ave) and scheduled for construction in 2027. The work included in this project includes repair of the deteriorated concrete, rehabilitation of the existing bridge railing, guard rail replacement, and other incidental work. County I will be closed to through traffic during construction with a detour route provided. The existing kayak launch, located just south of the bridge, is outside the limits of the proposed project and will remain open with access from the south.
