WAUKESHA, WI — Every day, families across Southeastern Wisconsin hear the words no parent should ever hear: “Your child has cancer.”
For many, life instantly becomes a whirlwind of hospital visits, treatments, fear, exhaustion, and impossible financial burdens. Parents are often forced to choose between working to pay the bills and spending precious time beside their child’s hospital bed.
That is where Paintings for Pediatrics (PfP) steps in.
Paintings for Pediatrics is a 100% volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping families facing the devastating realities of pediatric cancer. Seventy percent of all funds raised go directly to families struggling financially while caring for a child battling cancer. The remaining thirty percent supports critical pediatric cancer research focused on finding cures for terminal childhood cancers such as DIPG/DMG.
PfP’s mission is simple but powerful: helping families stay together during the hardest moments of their lives.
Over the past six years, Paintings for Pediatrics has raised more than $500,000 and helped support over 100 families in need throughout Southeastern Wisconsin and surrounding communities.
This coming weekend — Saturday, May 16, Sunday, May 17, and Tuesday, May 19 — Paintings for Pediatrics will host three days of fundraising activities to continue bringing hope, financial relief, awareness, and compassion to local families facing pediatric cancer.
In recognition of these ongoing efforts, Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow and the Waukesha County Board of Supervisors will present Paintings for Pediatrics with an official proclamation honoring the organization’s dedication to supporting families in crisis and raising awareness for DIPG/DMG and other terminal pediatric cancers affecting children throughout Southeastern Wisconsin.
The proclamation presentation will take place:
Friday, May 15, 2026 at: 3:00 PM
At the Cue Club of Wisconsin,
2454 Grandview Blvd. Waukesha WI
Presentation will be given by:
District 16 Supervisor Michael A. Crowley
“This fight is about more than medicine,” said fundraising coordinator Gerard Studer. “It is about giving families time together, easing financial burdens, creating awareness, and reminding parents they are not alone during the darkest chapter of their lives.”
Paintings for Pediatrics is asking the community, local media, and supporters throughout Southeastern Wisconsin to help spread awareness of both the proclamation and the organization’s mission by sharing stories, attending events, and helping shine a light on the urgent need for pediatric cancer support and research funding.
