As we approach Labor Day, we honor the hardworking men and women who keep Wisconsin moving. From nurses and first responders to factory workers, truck drivers, farmers, and skilled tradespeople, countless Wisconsinites put in long hours to provide for their families.
That’s why Senate Republicans fought for an overtime tax exemption that would have let workers keep more of the money they earn. Instead of sending more of their overtime pay to Madison, hardworking families could have saved hundreds – even over a thousand dollars each year.
Unfortunately, Senate Democrats blocked this proposal, preventing Wisconsin workers from receiving meaningful tax relief at a time when many families continue to face higher costs for groceries, housing, and everyday necessities.

Senate Republicans will continue fighting for policies that put hardworking Wisconsinites first and let them keep more of their hard-earned pay.
