Cuba City, WI — Not even below-zero wind chills and whiteout conditions could stop a few hardy neighbors from gathering Tuesday evening inside the big machine shed at Wilson Organic Farms for the launch of New Voice, New Vision — Lisa White’s campaign for Wisconsin State Senate in District 17.
The setting was pure rural Wisconsin: a bright campaign display framed by a New Holland tractor, steaming cups of coffee, and tables filled with cheese, crackers, cookies, and cupcakes. Outside, the snow piled high, but inside, the conversation was warm — folks shared ideas, laughter, and common purpose around the issues that matter most: public school funding, local agriculture, and the vitality of small communities.
“It says a lot about our part of Wisconsin that people show up through a snowstorm just to talk about schools and farms,” White said. “These folks are tough-minded, neighborly, and full of heart — exactly the kind of voices we need in Madison.”
While most registrants had to cancel due to the storm, a few determined supporters still came trudging in as the evening drew to a close — a moment that perfectly captured the grit and community spirit driving White’s grassroots campaign. That same energy will carry forward as New Voice, New Vision continues a series of listening sessions and farm visits across Grant, Iowa, Lafayette, Crawford, Green, and southwest Dane counties in the coming weeks.
