MADISON, Wis. – Joe Peikert, CEO of Wolf River Community Bank, Hortonville, is serving as the 2026–2027 board chair of the Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA).
The Wisconsin Bankers Association is the state’s largest financial industry trade association, representing nearly 180 commercial banks and savings associations, their branches, and 30,000 employees.
“Joe brings thoughtful leadership and a deep understanding of the industry,” said Rose Oswald Poels, WBA president and CEO. “His commitment to the banking industry will help guide the Association as we continue to strengthen and support Wisconsin banks.”
Peikert began his career in banking in his hometown after graduating from the University of Wisconsin–Platteville with a degree in business administration with a finance emphasis and a minor in accounting. Peikert completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a Certified Public Accountant. He joined Wolf River Community Bank in 2007 and became president/CEO in 2013, now serving solely as CEO.
Also serving as officers on the WBA Board are Chair-Elect Greg Lundberg, president and CEO, Fortifi Bank, Berlin; Vice Chair Shay Horton, president and CEO, Cumberland Federal Bank; and Past Chair Alvaro (Al) Araque, SVP director of consumer, private & business banking, Johnson Financial Group, Racine.
Joining the Board for three-year terms are Scott M. Cattanach, president and CEO, Peoples State Bank Wausau; Mark Oldenberg, president and CEO, Security Financial Bank, Durand; and Kevin Ravenscroft, president and CEO, The Peoples Community Bank, Mazomanie.
