MADISON – Polling released today by Wisconsin Family Action (WFA) shows 55% of Wisconsin voters would support a constitutional amendment to prohibit the government from forcing churches to close in emergencies.
The polling revealed broad consensus across every demographic breakdown, including race and gender. Every geographic region except Madison also showed majority support for the amendment.
WFA President Daniel Degner stated, “Religious freedom in Wisconsin should not merely be tolerated; it should flourish. In 2020, it took a Supreme Court ruling to fully restore the people’s right to assemble in places of worship. Religious freedom is not negotiable. We urge the Legislature to pass this amendment and send it to the people for a vote.”
The poll was conducted by Badger Battleground Poll and Platform Communications and surveyed 500 likely General Election voters from April 7-9, 2025 with a margin of error of +/- 4.4%.
