A new group that did a small digital buy earlier this year praising Dem gubernatorial candidate Sara Rodriguez is now on TV with a spot that says she’s “standing up for Wisconsin families.”

It’s the first TV buy in the gubernatorial race for any of the Dem contenders that’s been tracked by AdImpact. The service has more than $150,000 on broadcast and cable TV in the Milwaukee, Madison and Green Bay markets.

The Wisconsin Forward Fund did a small digital buy for Rodriguez earlier this year. The group isn’t registered with the state Ethics Comission, and it didn’t respond to an email sent to a contact listed on one of its media buys.

The narrator in the spot introduces Rodriguez as a nurse “who answered the call during public health crises,” flipped a Wisconsin Assembly seat and “then joined Governor Evers on the Democratic ticket as lieutenant governor.”

The narrator adds Rodriguez is “taking the next step to fight for Wisconsin families,” knows Wisconsin is feeling the pressure of rising costs, and will protect Medicaid and reproductive freedoms.

The spot concludes, “Democrat Sara Rodriguez: Standing up for Wisconsin families.”
