At a brief meeting held immediately following the Wisconsin Potato & Vegetable Growers Association (WPVGA) Annual Meeting, February 5, in Stevens Point, the WPVGA Board of Directors elected Wendy Dykstra of Alsum Farms Inc., Friesland, as its first-ever woman President for 2026. Dykstra (District 3) succeeds John Bustamante (District 2) of Wysocki Family Farms, Bancroft, who served as Board President in 2025. Josh Knights of Heartland Farms Inc., Hancock (District 3), was elected Vice President; Brian Lee from Okray Family Farms, Plover (District 2), was elected Secretary; and John Hopfensperger, Bushmans’ Inc., Rosholt (District 2), is Treasurer.

In addition to the four officers, the rest of the WPVGA Board of Directors includes: Randy Fleishauer of Plover River Farms, Stevens Point (District At Large); Charlie Husnick, Baginski Farms, Antigo (District 1); Andy Schroeder, Schroeder Bros Farms, Inc., Antigo (District 1); Jeff Suchon of Bushman’s Riverside Ranch, Crivitz (District 1); and Lucas Wysocki, Wysocki Family Farms, Bancroft (District 2).

WPVGA Associate Division Board Reelects Matt Selenske President for 2026

The WPVGA Associate Division Board of Directors reelected Matt Selenske from Allied Cooperative’s Pest Pros Division, Adams, as President for 2026. Ethan Olson of T H Agri-Chemicals, Inc., Plainfield, was reelected Vice President of the Board. The rest of the directors for 2026 include Melissa Heise (Secretary) of Swiderski Equipment, Mosinee; Brady Patoka, Jay-Mar, Inc., Plover; Paul Salm (Treasurer) of BMO Harris Bank, Altoona; Scott Scheer, Vista Financial Services, Appleton; Morgan Smolarek, McCain Foods USA, Inc., Wisconsin Rapids; Sally Suprise, C & D Professional Insurance Services, Waupaca; and Brandon Taylor of EXIT Realty CW, Stevens Point.

Andy Schroeder Unanimously Elected WSPIA President for 2026

As part of the Wisconsin Seed Potato Improvement Association (WSPIA) Annual Meeting, January 28, in Antigo, the WSPIA Board of Directors elected Andy Schroeder of Schroeder Bros. Farms, Antigo, President for 2026. Schroeder succeeds Charlie Husnick of Baginski Farms, Antigo, who served as Board President in 2025. Clover Spacek, Eagle River Seed Farm, Eagle River, was elected Vice President; and Ryan Fassbender, Seidl Farms, Inc., Deerbrook, was elected Secretary/Treasurer. In addition to the three board officers, the other two directors of the WSPIA Board are Mitch Mattek, J.W. Mattek & Sons, Deerbrook, and Markus Shafel, Sunnydale Farms, Inc., Bryant.
