Representative Chanz Green was recently awarded the 2025-26 Friend of the Towns Award by the Wisconsin Towns Association in recognition of his efforts supporting town government.

“Representative Green has demonstrated a strong commitment to addressing the real-world challenges
facing towns,” said Tom Winker, President of the Wisconsin Towns Association. “He has been willing to
take action and push for meaningful improvements where they’re needed most.”

Representative Green led efforts to advance updates to the Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP) to better serve towns and improve the efficiency of local road projects. His leadership on this issue has laid the foundation for changes that will simplify the program, improve project administration, and reduce delays and costs. These improvements will allow towns to make better use of limited transportation resources.

“Representative Green has been a strong advocate for improving LRIP and addressing the challenges towns face in completing local road projects,” said Mike Koles, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Towns Association. “His efforts are helping advance practical solutions that will
make the program work better for towns across Wisconsin.”

Friends of town government share a core belief that the best decisions are made closest to the people they affect. They understand that strong local leadership drives innovative solutions to public-sector challenges and strengthens democracy. Representative Green’s recognition reflects his continued commitment to strengthening local government and ensuring towns have the tools and flexibility necessary to meet local needs.
