MADISON, Wis. — New reporting from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel details how much more Wisconsinites are paying at the checkout line in preparation for 4th of July celebrations as a result of Wisconsin Republicans’ cost-raising policies. In Wisconsin this year, ground beef jumped 23.3%, strawberries are 25.5% more expensive, and ice cream 25.3% more expensive. These price spikes result from Wisconsin Republicans’ rubber-stamp of Trump’s reckless economic policies that drive inflation—including tariff taxes and his reckless agenda abroad.
“Wisconsin Republicans like Tom Tiffany, Derrick Van Orden, and Bryan Steil have made celebrating America’s 250th anniversary unaffordable for many working people,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Rachel La Due. “While Wisconsin Republicans may shrug their shoulders at the higher costs for Wisconsinites’ 4th of July barbecues, Wisconsinites already struggling to pay for gas, healthcare, and rent won’t forget that their inflation-raising policies are to blame.”
