MADISON, Wis. — Ahead of the Republican Party of Wisconsin’s state convention, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Devin Remiker released the following statement:
“The Republican Party of Wisconsin is kicking off their convention in chaos — only a week removed from the second failed coup against their own Chairman, with 15 legislative retirements devastating their odds to hold on to either chamber and a once-formidable operation now tearing itself to shreds.
“Wisconsinites from Kenosha to Superior are living with the consequences of Republican government: tariff taxes squeezing working families, fuel costs spiking from a pointless war with Iran, and relentless attacks on their freedoms. Instead of course-correcting, Wisconsin Republicans are doubling down on the same broken agenda that’s picking the pockets of working people.
“The GOP is a sinking ship, and Tom Tiffany and every Republican on the ballot this November are going to go down with it. Democrats have proven we know how to win, and Wisconsin voters are going to finish the job by sweeping Republicans out of state government and breaking the GOP’s House majority.”
