MADISON, Wis. — New reporting from WPR reveals that even Republicans find Congressman Tom Tiffany’s extremism off putting. Former Republican State Senator Dale Schultz saying of him, “I remember a guy who was pretty mean, pretty heartless, and to my way of thinking, entirely too close to a mining industry, which needed very careful watching.”
“It’s alarming that over his nearly 20-year career as a politician Congressman Tom Tiffany has developed a reputation — even with Republicans — for being not just extreme, but downright mean and heartless,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Emily Stuckey. “Wisconsin requires a governor who can work across the aisle and find solutions to the challenges Wisconsinites are facing. Congressman Tiffany is clearly only prepared to work with other extremists.”
The story notes that Congressman Tiffany is the most partisan member of Wisconsin’s U.S. House delegation. Additionally, it highlights how Tiffany is an election-denier who has been closely aligned with Trump when it comes to overturning the will of American voters and undermining public trust in our elections — a glaring red flag as he runs for an office that will be directly responsible for administering Wisconsin’s 2028 presidential election. Not only did Tiffany sign on to a Texas lawsuit challenging former Democratic President Joe Biden’s 2020 victory in Wisconsin, he also voted to object to Pennsylvania and Arizona election results and even vowed to object to Wisconsin’s results if he had been given the opportunity.
