MADISON, Wis. — New reporting details GOP Gubernatorial candidate Tom Tiffany’s anemic finance report ahead of the January 15 reporting deadline. A top Republican strategist recently stated that Tiffany “needs to be north of $3 million raised” and anything below is viewed as a missed opportunity. Despite months of campaigning, Tiffany has barely met his initial fundraising haul and support for his campaign continues to weaken as voters in off-year elections across the nation overwhelmingly throw their support behind Democrats.

“For someone who is going to have to spend a fortune justifying their position of taking away his constituents’ health care to support cost-raising policies, Tom Tiffany is embarrassingly far below the expected benchmark for a frontrunner in a competitive statewide race,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Emily Stuckey. “Tiffany is facing an uphill battle as support for Republicans weakens as a direct result of unpopular, chaotic policies being rejected by voters at every opportunity.”
