MADISON, Wis. —  New reporting shows oil prices have risen so much that the average cost of diesel has reached the highest level since 2022 as a result of Congressman Tom Tiffany’s MAGA policies and continued support for the war-of-choice in Iran. Gasoline prices continue to spike across the country as well — in Wisconsin, Labor Day Weekend travelers face gas prices that are up almost a dollar from this time last year.

“Make no mistake — high gas prices in Wisconsin are a direct result of Congressman Tiffany’s continued support for Trump’s war in Iran,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Emily Stuckey. “When Wisconsinites are wondering why the cost of everything from gas to groceries has skyrocketed, they don’t need to look further than MAGA Congressman Tom Tiffany.”

In January, Congressman Tom Tiffany took a selfie in front of a Wisconsin gas station and told Wisconsinites that 2026 would be “the cheapest year for gas” in the past six years thanks to MAGA policies. Following a six-day run of daily gas price increases, Tom Tiffany shrugged off the pain Wisconsinites feel at the pump, calling the widespread backlash to MAGA’s devastating high-cost agenda a “bit of a slump” rather than taking responsibility for his record in Washington that has sent prices soaring. Then, nearly three months into Trump’s war with Iran, Tiffany falsely claimed that he wanted to end the conflict that is raising costs for Wisconsinites before voting just a few hours later to allow the war to continue.
