“Make no mistake: the Democrats’ constant demonization of our ICE officers and their inflammatory rhetoric are the cause of this violence. Until they stop riling up their base, we won’t see an end to this political violence.” — Rep. Tony Wied previously blaming Democrats for violence by Trump’s militant force.
MADISON, Wis. — WI-08 Rep. Tony Wied is refusing to comment or even offer condolences to the family of Alex Pretti, a Green Bay Preble High School graduate who was murdered this weekend by ICE. While Wied has not hesitated to push right-wing anti-immigrant talking points, he is completely silent despite a member of his community, an American citizen, someone who served as a VA ICU nurse being executed.
After the murder of Renee Good, Wied blamed Democrats for ICE’s actions.

Local and state leaders are reacting to the shooting of another Minneapolis resident by federal agents, just two and a half weeks after the shooting death of Renee Good.
Alex Pretti was killed by U.S. Border Patrol agents on Saturday morning while DHS was carrying out an enforcement operation as ordered by President Trump. Bystander video shows Pretti filming agents in the street when he attempted to help a woman federal agents had shoved down.
Pretti was a graduate of Preble High School who was living and working in Minneapolis as a VA nurse.
