MADISON, Wis. — For nearly a month, Wisconsinites have watched gas prices skyrocket across the state as a result of Trump’s illegal war with Iran, adding another layer of pain to the affordability crisis that has been driven by Trump’s tariff taxes. This includes some of the most competitive assembly and senate districts, increasing the possibility Democrats pick up the five seats needed to take back both chambers. According to recent polling from Marquette University, a third of Wisconsinites report feeling very concerned about the cost of living—the same Wisconsinites who have watched their GOP representatives support just about every cost raising policy that has hit their wallets.
