MADISON, Wis. — After voters showed up to the polls in droves to reject Maria Lazar’s extreme right-wing agenda, Tom Tiffany had one thing to say: “We got our butts kicked.” Justice-elect Chris Taylor campaigned on a commitment to protect working people and Wisconsin from federal overreach, and inspired such overwhelming support that she won several conservative congressional districts, including Tiffany’s own rural 7th congressional district.

“Tom Tiffany is right—last night, Republicans got their butts kicked,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Emily Stuckey. “While Democrats are building momentum and making sure Wisconsinites know that Tiffany is the reason their costs are going up and they don’t have health care, it’s only fitting that Tiffany spent today workshopping his concession speech.”

The results of last night’s election included Democrats improving on their 2025 margins in 71 counties, flipping 19 counties that went red last year, and notching an upset victory in the Waukesha mayor’s race amongst other downballot elections.  These massive Democratic wins have led to a total meltdown within the GOP—with Wisconsin Republicans finger-pointing at each other and Tiffany’s biggest supporters panicking about Republican voter morale.
