WHINE WEDNESDAY: Van Orden’s Twitter Use WrappedWelcome to Whine Wednesday with Derrick Van Orden, America’s fiercest keyboard warrior. We comb through the hundreds of tweets DVO posts during a week so you don’t have to. Grab a glass and join us for Whine Wednesday!
MADISON, Wis. — Van Orden has had quite the head-spinning past two weeks as evidenced by his 53 tweets. From promoting the war in Iran to talking about meth, you can find all the highlights (or lowlights) of Van Orden’s online presence this past week below.
DVO’S DADDY OF THE WEEK: Pete Hegseth

If you tuned into yesterday’s 3rd Congressional District Forum, we don’t need to tell you that Van Orden’s performance was … underwhelming? If you were curious why, perhaps it was because Van Orden was just too excited to get away from voters and into the arms of Pete Hegseth.

Oof. Just hours after telling voters at the forum he did not want to be in a war with Iran, Derrick Van Orden turned around and joined Pete Hegseth’s war tour to tout the Trump administration’s cost-raising and reckless war with Iran. Can we really be that surprised though? This seems to be a microcosm of Van Orden’s entire political career. Lick the boots of Trump administration officials while his constituents get left in the dust.

DEFENSIVE MUCH?It seems Van Orden is starting to feel the heat of his … affection towards AI. Over the past few weeks, he has been very upset when people call out his AI usage and this week, he resorted to telling a twitter user to “back off the meth.”

Not sure about you, but this Whine Wednesday editor thinks it is maybe a bit inappropriate for a Congressman to be accusing people of using meth online. That’s all.WORST TAKE: Gas was high before, why do you care now???Something Derrick can not seem to wrap his head around is that people are upset with high gas prices—every time he is asked about them, his go-to answer is “I didn’t hear you complaining when gas was higher under Biden,” and that seems to be his closing argument for these midterms.

Here is the thing Derrick: You did! You ran your entire 2024 re-election campaign on lowering gas and grocery prices! So please, forgive people for being frustrated with you for breaking your campaign promises—especially when they have the receipts of your cost-raising record.
ELON + DERRICK = <3 4ever

Late last week, Tesla announced they have developed flying cars, and Van Orden just had to congratulate his bestie and favorite donor, Elon Musk.

This wouldn’t be that weird for Van Orden, however, we do feel it is important to note that Elon Musk has spent about $4.6 million dollars this election cycle trying to get Van Orden reelected. And in just 13 days, we’ll get to defeat them both.
Sincerely, DVO’s Whine Club
