MADISON, Wis. — A new Heartland Post article challenges David Crowley’s job creation promises, highlighting declining private-sector employment in Milwaukee County and an agenda that would make Wisconsin less competitive.
Comparing 2019, the year before Crowley took office, with 2025, the article reports Milwaukee County lost nearly 18,000 private-sector jobs while the rest of Wisconsin gained approximately 71,000.
The piece also examines Crowley’s push to repeal right-to-work protections and require union labor on data center construction projects, raising concerns about attracting employers and opportunities for nonunion workers.
“David Crowley wants a promotion, but Wisconsin families deserve to see his report card first. Milwaukee County lost thousands of private-sector jobs while the rest of Wisconsin gained them. Now he wants to take his agenda statewide,” said WisGOP Chairman Brian Schimming. “Working families need opportunities to get ahead. Crowley owes them an explanation for why his promises are so different from his record.”
