MADISON, WI — David Crowley is changing his tune on data center tax breaks. As highlighted in the Cap Times, Crowley now supports repealing Wisconsin’s data center tax exemption after previously declining to endorse its elimination.
In July, Crowley said, “I do not believe Wisconsin should automatically roll back all data center tax incentives.” This week, asked whether he would sign Republican legislation repealing the exemption, Crowley answered, “Absolutely.”
“Data Center David wants Wisconsin voters to forget what he said just a few months ago,” said Wisconsin GOP Chairman Brian Schimming. “He resisted repealing these tax breaks, and now, weeks before Election Day, he wants credit for embracing Republican legislation to end them. Wisconsin families deserve leadership they can count on, and Crowley’s last-minute reversal gives them another reason to question his judgment.”
