MADISON, Wis. — Eric Toney is calling out Francesca Hong’s reckless rhetoric after the Madison police shooting, and he’s right.
Hong showed up to the protest and labeled the officer-involved shooting an “execution.” She didn’t wait for facts. She didn’t wait for the investigation. She just went straight to the inflammatory talking points.
Toney didn’t mince words: Hong’s comments were “appalling,” “disgusting,” and “irresponsible.” Politicians should let investigations run their course instead of rushing to judgment for political points.
And while Hong is out there inflaming the situation…
Where is Josh Kaul?
The sitting Attorney General, the one whose Department of Justice is actually charged with investigating this case, has been completely silent on Hong’s inflammatory comments.

Does Josh Kaul agree with Francesca Hong that this was an “execution”?
Does he think officers should be condemned before the facts are in?
Or is he just hoping no one notices he’s nowhere to be found?
Voters deserve to know.
