MADISON, Wis. –  There are no honors for Chris Taylor during Women’s History Month. As a state legislator, she voted against crime victims not once, not twice, but FOUR times. Now, she’s flooding the airwaves with ads claiming to stand up for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors, while trying to bury her own record from Wisconsin voters.

“Chris Taylor is running ad after ad insisting she champions survivors, yet she voted against them four times. This gaslighting isn’t just unbecoming of a judge; it’s disqualifying for someone seeking a seat on Wisconsin’s highest court. Survivors deserve a Justice who protects them, not one who repeatedly sided against them,” said WisGOP Spokeswoman Anika Rickard.

The record is clear:

  • In 2016, Taylor opposed Assembly Bill 497, which would have barred sexually violent offenders from living near their victims or within 1,500 feet of schools, child care facilities, youth centers, places of worship, or public parks.
  • In 2017 and 2019, she voted against Marsy’s Law, a bipartisan constitutional amendment (overwhelmingly approved by 75% of Wisconsin voters in 2020) that granted victims 16 new rights, including dignity, respect, protection from the accused, and timely notice of releases or escapes.
  • In 2019, she opposed Assembly Bill 804, which toughened penalties for those who intimidate domestic violence survivors.

Chris Taylor must answer for this pattern of putting partisan priorities and third parties over victims. Wisconsin survivors, families, mothers, fathers, and every voter deserve straight answers: Why did she consistently vote against protections for the vulnerable?

Wisconsin deserves better on our Supreme Court. Demand the truth from Chris Taylor.
