MADISON, Wis. – While Democrat David Crowley has been hobnobbing in California with Kamala Harris and wealthy liberal donors while Democratic Socialist Francesca Hong campaigns for him, he isn’t facing the massive costs Milwaukee County families are shouldering after his repeated tax hikes.
Unfortunately, Crowley’s never been very aware of the effects of his tax-and-spend approach to governing. In 2023, after he raised sales taxes, WISN asked if he thought it would be a burden for residents, and he responded: “No, I don’t think it will be a burden.”
But while Crowley might think his sales tax hikes aren’t a burden, Milwaukee County families know otherwise. They currently pay the highest sales tax of any county in the state, which has driven up prices on basic goods and services.
The reality is that serial tax-hiker David Crowley doesn’t have a clue how he’s made Milwaukee County more expensive for everyone who calls it home. We can’t afford him as Governor.
