MADISON — The School Administrators Alliance has issued the following statement in response to the Governor’s 2023-25 budget proposal:
We applaud the governor’s continued commitment to our students and school communities. The proposal forwarded by Governor Evers would benefit all students and recognize our schools’ significant needs.
Of specific note, the investment in special education provides schools with long-needed support to serve our most vulnerable students. In addition, increased spending authority reinforces our state’s commitment to local control. It will go a long way in ensuring local school boards have the flexibility to meet the needs of our students while also holding the line on property taxes.
We know there is significant work to be done as the legislature considers this proposal. Members of the SAA will continue to communicate the unprecedented needs of our schools with the governor, the legislature, and our communities.
