[Madison, WI] – This afternoon, Rep. Calvin Callahan (R-Tomahawk) issued the following statement in response to a recent post on his X (formerly Twitter) account. The post featured an AI-generated image depicting President Trump arresting Governor Evers, following the governor’s directive advising state employees not to assist ICE agents.
“Governor Evers is more interested in shielding illegal immigrants than upholding the law. His memo essentially instructs state employees to stonewall federal agents – those tasked with keeping our country safe. That’s unacceptable. If a judge in Milwaukee can be criminally charged for harboring an illegal immigrant, then a Governor who tells his workforce to obstruct ICE shouldn’t get a free pass either. I said what I said. If you’re actively working against immigration enforcement, you’re part of the problem – and you deserve to be held accountable.”
