MADISON, Wis. – Today, Representative Maureen McCarville delivered her first speech as a State Representative
On the Assembly Floor Rep. McCarville said:
“As a new member of the Assembly, a resident and taxpayer in DeForest, and a believer in economic development and job creation, I am pleased to speak in support of Assembly Bill 137. This bill will give DeForest and the rest of the state an economic opportunity we wouldn’t otherwise have by amending tax incremental district no. 9.
“Amending a TID, or the projects it will finance, requires approval of a joint review board made up of representatives of the Village, the school district, the vocational college district and the county. It is a partnership designed to assure that approved projects will provide the intended mutual benefits.
“I am proud that my first floor speech is in support of a bipartisanbill to grant an exception to a rule that is standing in the way of significant public benefit.
