Franklin, WI – Forward Latino, a national non-profit, non-partisan service and advocacy organization headquartered in Franklin, Wisconsin and with affiliates and members in twenty- nine states condemns the act of hate and gun violence that took place at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C.
National President Darryl Morin issued the following statement:
“Yesterday here in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, we celebrated our long-standing partnership with our Jewish community. We shared stories of tragedy, of hate, of gun violence and reviewed the Milwaukee Jewish Federation’s audit on antisemitic incidents.
We are two communities that have and continue to suffer from acts of hate and gun violence. From the shooting at the Walmart in El Paso, Texas, to the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to now, yesterday’s shooting at the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. we can and must do better.
I have visited the Lillian and Albert Small Capital Jewish Museum. It is a museum dedicated to developing personal connections with all communities and inspiring collaboration through the sharing of common beliefs and values.
While no community has unanimity of thought on all issues, we must all unanimously stand up to acts of hate and gun violence.
Today we pray for the families of those lost, the American Jewish Committee, and with our nation’s entire Jewish community. Today we recommit ourselves to vigorously stand up to hate and gun violence.
Hate can never be allowed to win.”
