MADISON, Wis. — Today, Democrats introduced a bill to invest in Wisconsin’s child care industry. Rep. Vincent Miresse (D-Stevens Point) released the following statement in support:

“Child care professionals are essential to our economy and working families across Wisconsin. Without state support, providers will face tough choices—raising tuition or shutting down.”

“Republicans cut child care funding from Governor Evers’ budget with no backup plan. Our proposal fills that gap, helping providers hire staff, stay open, and ensuring working families in Wisconsin can afford childcare.”

“Investing in child care means investing in our workforce and our future. I am committed to building a strong economy that works for everyone by lowering every day, out of pocket costs.”
