The Dem group Protect Our Jobs announced a new ad campaign targeting U.S. Rep. Derrick Van Orden, R-Prairie du Chien, for voting to cut clean energy tax breaks.
The group said it’s a six-figure campaign that began Wednesday in the La Crosse and Wausau markets. It includes broadcast TV, cable and streaming.
The spot opens with a man identified as Nick who says he’s an electrician and a Republican who works in solar because “these jobs pay well,” but now Republicans in Washington are trying to eliminate jobs like his.
The narrator says Van Orden voted to cut clean energy production, which will kill thousands of jobs in Wisconsin to give the super rich a tax cut.

Nick closes the ad, “Congressman, you turned your back on us. That’s not leadership. That’s selling us out.”
