USPIE Founder and President Sheri Few: ‘Sex ed standards and other odious policies pushed by the federal government and installed in government schools are damaging education, sexualizing children and putting them at risk’
COLUMBIA, S.C. — The school board in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, has imposed a new sex-education curriculum and other educational fads that deliberately corrupt children.
The district’s plunge into wokeness, approved in 2022 and now being facilitated, was exposed in a recent Wall Street Journal article, “Woke Education Is Going Strong, Even in Middle America: Schools in Wauwatosa, Wis., embrace far-left fads from ‘gender identity’ to ‘restorative justice.’”
Sixth-graders are being asked to define different types of sexual intercourse, and kindergartners are learning about genitalia with the help of cartoon drawings. Third graders are being informed that, no matter their body parts, they may feel like another “gender.”
“This story shows how sex ed standards and other odious policies pushed by the federal government and installed in government schools are damaging education, sexualizing children and putting them at risk,” said United States Parents Involved in Education (USPIE) Founder and President Sheri Few.
“Notably,” the Journal reports, “the newly adopted units are based on the National Sex Education Standards, which encourage teaching third-graders about puberty blockers, sixth-graders about abortion and students as young as kindergarten about ‘gender identity.’”
“The National Sex Education Standards, which have no credible national standing, are issued by the Sex Education Collaborative, a far-left organization supported by Planned Parenthood and pro-LGBTQ+ groups,” Few said.
“The red flags appear in more than the curriculum,” the Journal article states. “Wauwatosa is one of thousands of districts to have adopted a ‘restorative justice’ policy. This is an alternative to traditional discipline …. To no one’s surprise, Wauwatosa schools have developed a reputation for permissive discipline and frequent fights.”
The Journal article notes that Wauwatosa, which is just outside Milwaukee, is a typical American suburb.
“If you thought your kids were safe because they weren’t in government schools in places like San Francisco or Cambridge, Massachusetts, think again,” Few said. “‘Wokeness’ is rife in thousands of districts across America, particularly when it comes to sex education.
“The only real solution is to get your kids out — now.”
United States Parents Involved in Education (USPIE) is a nonprofit, nationwide coalition that is fighting to return education to its proper local roots and restore parental authority over their children’s education by helping parents and local communities to escape federal and other national influences. It is the vision of USPIE to create a culture where parents, empowered with the authority to choose what and how their children learn, are the undisputed primary educators of their children, where local schools operate in support of families, and where education is unencumbered by federal mandates.
USPIE’s powerful documentary, “Truth & Lies in American Education,” addresses some of the most glaring issues in the American education system and equips parents to make a change in their local school district for the betterment of their children. The film follows Few’s daughter-in-law, April, as she seeks to learn more about the system she was planning on exposing to her own children and learns the shocking truth. “Truth & Lies in American Education” is available for streaming on SalemNOW, as well available on DVD.
USPIE’s podcast, “Unmasking Government Schools with Sheri Few,” is a weekly podcast that exposes the dangers of education shaped by government bureaucrats and social engineers, while exploring practical ways to protect children and preserve America’s freedom.
