Three years after Derrick Van Orden and Bryan Steil cheered on the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and rip reproductive rights away from Wisconsinites, the three continue to side with anti-abortion extremists over Wisconsin women.
Van Orden and Steil worked for years to strip away reproductive health care from Wisconsin women, and their anti-abortion records are perfectly clear:
- Van Orden said that he is “100% pro-life” and opposes abortion because life begins at conception.
- Van Orden called exceptions for rape and incest “evil” and compared abortion to genocide.
- Van Orden and Steil both voted to jail doctors and nurses who provide reproductive health care and supported defunding abortion care for U.S. servicemembers.
- Van Orden and Steil both voted for a backdoor effort to pressure states with established legal protections into gradually stripping away abortion rights.
- Steil signed the amicus brief urging the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade and then celebrated the Dobbs decision.
