The Embrace Them Both Coalition denounces the Wisconsin Supreme Court decision in Kaul v. Urmanksi, which finds that Wisconsin’s abortion ban has been impliedly repealed and is now unenforceable.
Today’s decision is a failure for women, for preborn children, for Wisconsin. Abortion never heals; it only harms. It never solves; it only masks. The ethical response to challenges faced during pregnancy is not to eliminate a human person. Rather, it is to bring everything we have to bear to remove every obstacle to embrace both human lives, mother and child. It is to love.
As a Coalition, we will never abandon this mission. We stand united in the defense of life. We will continue to work to address the real-life situations of Wisconsinites who encounter challenges in pregnancy and parenting. We will continue to expand access to lifesaving alternatives to abortion. We will continue to seek to advance legislation that embraces both mother and child. We call on all who work in the Wisconsin State Capitol to work with us to save lives, rather than to take them.
This is the only way forward.
