Madison – I understand that, at the end, no one gets everything they want. Governor Tony Evers was able to make progress on key issues affecting Wisconsin families. Investments in childcare, special education, the UW-System, and a retirement tax break for seniors are all areas that I support, and I am grateful for Governor Evers’ efforts to secure funding for these programs. In the end, however, the budget didn’t do enough to fund our schools and failed to continue the Stewardship program. For these reasons, I could not vote in support of this budget.
