MADISON, WI – The Wisconsin State Assembly has passed a conservative budget that cuts
taxes, reins in government, and protects core freedoms.

Highlights include:

  • Nearly $1.5 billion in tax relief, including eliminating the tax on natural gas and
    electricity
  • Blocking over $3.7 billion in proposed tax hikes
  • Cutting over 300 government positions, including hiring caps on UW System employees
  • Major reforms to child care access and school choice, including for 4K
  • Elimination of funding for partisan offices tied to environmental and social policy
    agendas
  • Blocks state funding for the Office of Violence Prevention
  • Preserving key conservative policies like Act 10, right-to-work, and Second
    Amendment protections
The budget also includes six new Assistant District Attorneys for Waukesha County—a public
safety investment Representative Piwowarczyk championed. “I am thrilled Waukesha County is
getting the support they need with funding for an additional six assistant district attorneys.” Said
    Rep. Piwowarczyk.
“This budget puts taxpayers first, blocks the far-left agenda, and ensures communities like ours
are safer and stronger,” said Rep. Piwowarczyk. “I’m especially proud Waukesha County is
getting six new prosecutors to keep our streets safe.”
The budget now heads to Governor Evers’ desk.
